Job summary

Space Systems Integration (SSI) is seeking a Space Systems Engineer for a Dayton, OH role. You will join a small, empowered team to design, analyze, and deliver cryptographic and satellite communication systems for space programs, interfacing with DoD customers and program offices.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years DoD/IC or equivalent industry experience.
• ABET-accredited engineering degree or PE licensure.
• Experience with cryptographic and satellite communications systems.
• Understanding of space operational environment and payload engineering.
• DoD program management, including development and transition.
• Experience with Integrated Master Schedules and risk management.
• Experience with SOWs and PWSs.
• Willingness to travel up to 30%.

Responsibilities

• Supports design, interpretation, and analysis of technical solutions to complex projects.
• Leads or supports technical programs or tasks with engineering oversight.
• Ensures tasks are completed within time and budget constraints.
• Provides input on risks to performance, schedule and budget for government customers.
• Ensures deliverables meet standards and warfighting requirements.
• Plans and performs research, design development, and related engineering assignments.
• Coordinates with partners to support delivery milestones.
• Tracks design trades and financial/technical impacts to requirements.
• Develops requirements from inception to conclusion for complex programs.
• Provides strategic technical guidance to program staff.
• Offers detailed analyses and recommendations for improvements.
