Job summary

Space Systems Integration (SSI) is seeking a Space Systems Engineer for a Dayton, OH role. The candidate will work in a small, empowered team focusing on cryptographic and satellite communication subsystems, interfacing with various partners to meet military-grade requirements.

The ideal candidate has extensive DoD/IC experience, active TS clearance, and experience with program management, schedules, and rapid prototyping across air, space, and cyberspace domains.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years DoD/IC or relevant industry experience.
• ABET-accredited engineering degree or PE license.
• MA/MS/ME degree.
• Experience with cryptographic and satellite communication systems.
• Understanding of space operational environment and mission user needs.
• Experience with DoD program management including program development and transition.
• Active TS clearance with in-scope T5/SSBI, SCI eligibility, and polygraph willingness.
• Travel is 30%.
• Experience with rapid prototyping and integrated air, space, and cyberspace capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Supports design, interpretation, and analysis of technical solutions to complex projects.
• Leads or supports technical programs, projects, or tasks with engineering oversight.
• Ensures completion of tasks within estimated time frames and budget constraints.
• Provides input to the government customer concerning risks to performance, schedule, and budget.
• Ensures program deliverables meet standards and warfighting requirements.
• Plans and performs engineering research, design development, and other assignments.
• Coordinates with multiple partners/agencies to support delivery milestones.
• Tracks and advises design trades and associated cost, schedule, and technical impacts.
• Initiates and develops requirements from inception to conclusion for complex programs.
• Provides strategic technical guidance to program and project staff.
• Communicates clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy to management and leadership.
• Other duties as required.
