Job summary

Space Systems Integration LLC (SSI) seeks a Space Systems Engineer for a Dayton, OH role. You will join a small, empowered team responsible for space-grade cryptographic and communications subsystems, and integration with other components in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires five years of DoD/IC experience, an ABET-accredited degree or PE, and an active TS clearance with SCI eligibility; travel up to 30% is expected.

Qualifications

• DoD/IC or equivalent industry experience (min 5 years).
• ABET-accredited engineering degree or PE license.
• MA/MS/ME degree.
• Experience with cryptographic and satellite communications systems.
• Understanding space operational environment and mission user needs.
• Knowledge of space mission payload engineering and manufacturing.
• DoD program management experience including IMS and risk management.
• Experience with SOW and PWS development.
• Active TS clearance with in-scope T5/SSBI, SCI eligibility, willingness for polygraph.
• Travel up to 30%.

Responsibilities

• Supports design, interpretation, and analysis of technical solutions to complex projects.
• Leads or supports technically complex programs or tasks with engineering oversight.
• Manages schedule, budget, and risk to ensure delivery.
• Provides input on risks to performance, schedule, and budget to the government customer.
• Ensures deliverables meet standards and warfighting needs.
• Coordinates with partners to meet milestones and requirements.
• Develops and reviews requirements from inception to conclusion for complex programs.
• Communicates technical results clearly to management and leadership.
