Job summary

AeroVironment seeks a Systems Engineer to join its Space Technologies division. You will contribute to requirements development, interface definition, verification and documentation for advanced space-based systems, including optical communications and spacecraft electronics.

The ideal candidate has a strong SE foundation and can own assigned activities while collaborating with program leadership; experience in optical/electro-optical space systems is highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Optical Engineering, Physics, or related technical discipline.
• 2+ years of systems engineering experience in aerospace/defense or related environment.
• Experience applying systems-engineering principles to requirements, interfaces, integration, verification, or technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop, decompose, allocate, analyze, and maintain system and subsystem requirements.
• Coordinate interfaces across electrical, mechanical, optical, software, firmware, and other disciplines.
• Review designs for alignment with requirements, interfaces, and functionality.
• Develop verification strategies and verification artifacts; plan and execute verification activities.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation and guidance for SE processes.
