Rocket Lab is seeking a Systems Engineer II in Long Beach, CA, to join our Space Systems team. You will develop budgets, define requirements, run simulations, and drive the engineering process with hands-on work on flight hardware.

You’ll work on civil, commercial, and defense missions, collaborating across teams to deliver spacecraft programs and ensure mission success. This role requires a engineering background and U.S. citizenship due to program requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (software, computer, electrical, aerospace, mechanical, or other technical discipline).
• 2+ years of engineering experience in the aerospace industry.
• Experience supporting satellite or spacecraft development programs.
• U.S. citizenship required due to program requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain technical budgets for vehicle performance.
• Define system requirements and verification techniques.
• Perform simulations and analysis across vehicle functions.
• Develop test methods and data analysis.
• Lead and own technical development of spacecraft missions.
• Assist with program and product management.
• Create interface specifications and CONOPS definitions.
