Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems in Dulles, VA seeks a Systems Engineer for Fault Management and System Autonomy within Eastern Engineering. You will perform traditional Systems Engineering tasks, including requirements synthesis, verification planning, and system analysis for spacecraft-related programs.

The role requires knowledge of aerospace systems, spacecraft subsystems, and mission operations, with opportunities to contribute to integration, testing, and operational readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field with 2+ years of experience or master's degree.
• Active TS/SCI clearance required at time of application.
• Experience in Systems Engineering for mission-critical applications.
• Experience with mission/vehicle systems engineering and software coding or scripting.

Responsibilities

• Perform traditional Systems Engineering functions including requirements synthesis and flow-down, verification/validation planning, system trades study support, systems analysis, coordination of design efforts, and management of technical budgets & interface definitions within the Fault Management domain.
• Design, implement, and validate Fault Management and System Autonomy Flight Software using flight-like simulations and flight hardware.
• Must be knowledgeable in spacecraft subsystem design, spacecraft testing, flight software best practices, and mission operations.
• Assist in new business activities, such as conceptual design and analysis for proposals and funded studies, potentially authoring sections.
• Communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and nontechnical audiences; present findings effectively.
• Support and deliver SE products and other deliverables with a focus on mission success.
• Write status and technical performance reviews, analyses and reports.
