Job summary

Omitron, Inc. seeks a Space Systems DevOps Engineer to bridge our infrastructure and orbital analysts in a secure, air‑gapped environment at Vandenberg Space Force Base, CA. The role blends systems administration, automation, and software development to support SDA/C2 workloads.

The successful candidate will embed with the OA team, translate mission requirements, and maintain scalable, high‑throughput infrastructure, with Python tooling and CI/CD pipelines for mission critical systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/SE or related field.
• Experience with Linux, Python, and automation.
• 4+ years across systems administration, DevOps, and/or software engineering; DoD IAT Level II preferred.

Responsibilities

• Embed with orbital analyst team to translate requirements into infrastructure configuration and automation.
• Serve as liaison between systems team and analyst mission users to ensure operational needs are met.
• Diagnose bottlenecks across compute, storage, network, and virtualization; benchmark before production changes.
• Administer, patch, and harden Linux in air-gapped, DISA STIG-compliant environment (SELinux/Secure Boot).
• Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure‑as‑code for disconnected environments.
• Develop and maintain Python tooling for monitoring and automation; support legacy tooling.
