Job summary

Omitron Inc. is seeking a full-time Space Systems DevOps Engineer at Vandenberg AFB, CA. The role bridges infrastructure and orbital analysis, with embedded collaboration on mission-critical SDA/C2 workloads and air-gapped environments.

You will administer Linux systems, build CI/CD pipelines, and develop Python tooling while ensuring security and performance in a mission-focused setting for the Space Force.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of combined experience across systems administration, DevOps, and/or software engineering (or 2+ years with a graduate degree).
• DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CCNA-Security) or ability to obtain within onboarding.
• Strong proficiency with Linux, command-line administration, performance optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in Python 3 scripting and automation with maintainable code.
• Experience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD concepts.
• Familiarity with virtualization (VMware, Red Hat, or similar) and core storage/networking fundamentals.
• Security clearance required; willing to pursue TS/SCI upgrade if needed.

Responsibilities

• Embed with orbital analyst team to translate mission requirements into infrastructure configuration and automation.
• Administer, patch, and harden Linux systems in air-gapped DISA STIG environment.
• Configure and maintain virtualization and high-performance shared storage, with network tuning.
• Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines and IaC for disconnected environments.
• Develop Python tooling for monitoring, lifecycle tracking, and alerting.
• Collaborate with development teams and project managers to deliver high-quality solutions.
