Job summary

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a COMSEC and Network Engineer in Colorado Springs to support DCO-S mission systems. You will design, implement, and sustain secure network infrastructure, manage COMSEC accounts, and ensure cryptographic device health in classified environments.

The role requires TS/SCI eligibility, DoD network experience, and the ability to coordinate with operators, ISSOs, and program stakeholders. Remote work is limited and on-site responsibilities apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 5+ years in DoD/USSF networking.
• Top Secret with SCI eligibility required.
• Experience with COMSEC key management and cryptographic devices.
• Experience with classified networks (SIPR/JWICS) and RMF/STIG.
• Colorado Springs location; ability to travel <25%.

Responsibilities

• Lead contract risk management process including risk tracking.
• Design, configure, and maintain secure DCO-S network infra.
• Manage COMSEC accounts and key material handling.
• Install and sustain TACLANE encryptors and keying.
• Implement network security controls and boundary protections.
• Troubleshoot connectivity, performance, crypto issues.
• Support integration of DCO-S tools on classified networks.
• Apply STIG/SCAP and configuration baselines.
• Coordinate with site personnel and engineers to resolve issues.
• Maintain documentation of configurations and inventories.
• Assist planning and execution of network changes.
