Job summary

Peraton is seeking a CAD Drafter in Las Cruces, New Mexico at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) White Sands Complex (WSC) to support Space Network operations. This position supports NASA programs which integrates with state-of-art ground station communications equipment.

You'll use your technical knowledge to assist the WSC in developing technical documentation to support multiple projects.

Qualifications

• High School diploma (or equivalent) and 6+ years of experience.
• Proficient in AutoCAD software.
• General proficiency in Microsoft Office Visio graphics software.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
• Security clearance - this position requires the candidate to be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
• You must be a US Citizen and show proof of citizenship.
• Must be able to maintain ability to access government worksite.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with design originators, preparing drawings of unusual, complex, or original designs which require a high degree of precision within the disciplines of Civil, Mechanical, Electronics, and Electro-Mechanical.
• Performs unusually difficult assignments requiring considerable initiative, resourcefulness, and drafting expertise.
• Assures that anticipated problems in manufacture, assembly, installation, and operation are resolved by the drawings produced.
• Exercises independent judgment in selecting and interpreting data based on a knowledge of the design intent.
• Coordinates work assignments with Document Technical Publisher personal. Generally working in 2D with occasional perspective drawings required.
• May be assigned work on other projects/activities as required.
