Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Hardware Implementation Field Service Engineer in Las Cruces, New Mexico at the NASA White Sands Complex (WSC) to support Space Network operations. The selected individual will install and populate racks with equipment and build and install cable assemblies.

Peraton is the prime contractor for NASA at WSC near Las Cruces, NM. The role involves field tasks, site installations, and collaboration with the installation team in a mission-critical environment.

Qualifications

• AS/AA degree or HS/GED with relevant experience in electronic systems integration.
• 2+ years of technical experience in electronic systems integration or related fields.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Must be able to travel to remote facilities for extended periods.
• Ability to work extended hours and weekends as required.
• Security clearance – able to obtain DoD Secret clearance and maintain it.

Responsibilities

• Perform hardware installation and test.
• Integrate equipment into racks per design documentation.
• Fabricate cable assemblies (network, coax, fiber, specialty) per documentation and standards.
• Route and neatly dress internal rack cables using cable management per workmanship standards.
• Route and neatly dress system cables in under floor and overhead trays.
• Install waveguide components per manufacturer instructions.
• Print and apply cable labels.
• Familiar with test and diagnostic equipment; test cable assemblies and archive results.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and work orders.
• Identify appropriate power outlets and cords.
• Maintain disciplined task management and strong teamwork.
• Work autonomously in mission-critical, real-time operations environment.
