KBR, Inc. is seeking Six-Month Sewing Technician Positions to support NASA at Johnson Space Center. These temporary (six-month) roles involve space suit sewing, fabrications, and assembly for the Space Suit Design Team. Second shift (3:00 PM – 11:00 PM) on site in Webster, TX; U.S.

citizenship is required. Role may transition to full-time based on performance and contract needs. Candidate will perform safety training and adhere to flight and training procedures while fabricating soft-goods per

Qualifications

• Proficient in using industrial sewing machines: Straight Stitch, Walking Foot, Bartack, Buttonhole, and 3 Thread Rolled Hem Serger.
• Able to read soft-goods fabrication and assembly drawings.
• Proficient in fabricating soft-goods patterns.
• Able to sew materials by hand or machine to very tight tolerances.
• Capable of cutting materials to tight tolerances.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Responsibilities

• Sew materials by hand and/or sewing machine to join, gather, reinforce, or decorate articles.
• Cut materials per specifications or trim excess material or thread.
• Examine and measure finished articles for conformance.
• Monitor machine operation and adjust as needed.
• Prepare and mark patterns on materials for sewing.
• Record materials processed in production logs.
• Ensure fabrication quality per drawings and instructions.
