Job summary

KBR, Inc. is hiring a Space Suit Project Engineer to support design, development, fabrication, assembly, testing and certification of space suit hardware for NASA Johnson Space Center projects.

The role emphasizes safety compliance, hands-on development, and interfacing with NASA stakeholders in a 100% on-site capacity, with travel ~10%. The ideal candidate contributes to requirements development, verification, and detailed engineering drawings, while guiding cross-functional teams to deliver

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, or related) with 3+ years of experience.
  • Experience with manufacturing, test, and troubleshooting of hardware.
  • U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Residency; ability to obtain Public Trust clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety, health, and environmental compliance and follow company safety policies.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and test space suits and related hardware.
  • Design, fabricate, test softgoods and hardgoods suit components and optimize manufacturing processes.
  • Develop assembly plans, testing strategies, and write test procedures and setups.
  • Lead evaluation, qualification, and acceptance testing; analyze results and propose improvements.
  • Interface with NASA stakeholders and lead root-cause analysis and risk management.
