Job summary

Cowboy Space Corp. in Kent, WA is seeking a Structural Analyst to own the loads, models, and margins for flight hardware. You will drive the full lifecycle of structural predictions, from load cases to test correlation, and develop tools and templates to document analysis across the team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of structural analysis experience for flight vehicles or high-performance hardware.
  • Strong fundamentals in solid mechanics, stability, and materials behavior including plasticity, fatigue, and fracture.
  • Proficiency with commercial FEA tools for linear and nonlinear problems.
  • Ability to substantiate results with hand calculations and explain method choices.
  • Proficiency with Python or MATLAB for automation and tooling.

Responsibilities

  • Own the full lifecycle of structural prediction and data for the team—from load definition to correlated, test-anchored models.
  • Derive and maintain structural load sets across ground handling, ascent, and on-orbit environments.
  • Perform static strength, stability, fatigue, and damage-tolerance analyses.
  • Develop tools, templates, and checklists for consistent analyses across engineers.
  • Define material allowables and support test objectives and data correlation.
  • Support anomaly investigation, failure analysis, and post-test review.
