Job summary

Redwire Space NV in Goleta, CA is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to own manufacturing scope for solar array programs, develop new processes, support production planning, and collaborate with design teams on GSE to ensure high-reliability hardware for mission requirements.

You will set up production lines, lead planning, train staff, and drive KPI improvements while ensuring safety and environmental compliance. Domestic travel up to 15% and US citizenship/visa requirements apply.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Manufacturing Engineering or related field with 2–4 years of experience.
• Minimum of 2 years in a manufacturing engineering or production support role.
• Experience with RCCA methodology.
• Background or strong understanding of GSE and tooling design.
• Ability to design and document manufacturing processes, including sequencing and controls.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills.
• Ability to develop and implement solutions to moderately/highly complex problems.
• Project management and scheduling/budgeting ability.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks.
• Willingness to travel 10–15% (local with some overnight).
• US Citizenship or Green Card holder (visa sponsorship not available).

Responsibilities

• Set up production lines, including layout optimization and equipment.
• Lead production planning and execution for assigned programs.
• Ensure manufacturing procedures comply with safety and environmental regulations.
• Identify and implement process improvements and KPI-driven initiatives.
• Train staff in new and existing procedures.
• May act as a lead for technicians and junior engineers.
• Develop mitigation plans for production challenges and resolve issues.
• Maintain technical documentation: reports, plans, test procedures, work instructions.
• Investigate non-conformances; write rework instructions and dispositions.
• Collaborate with QA to prevent recurrence of issues.
• Provide manufacturability feedback for GSE and tooling.
• Support design reviews and production readiness processes.
