Job summary

Vast is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Technician to support Mojave operations as the primary on-site EHS resource. You will implement safety programs, ensure compliance across hazardous operations, and collaborate with site leadership, engineering, and remote EHS teams to maintain a safe workplace.

The role requires a High School Diploma and 3–5 years in EHS within industrial settings, with the ability to lift 50 lbs, work in harsh conditions, and participate in after-hours work as

Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• 3–5 years overseeing EHS in industrial or hazardous environments.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in harsh conditions.
• Willingness to work evenings and/or weekends to support critical mission milestones.

Responsibilities

• Implement site-specific safety programs (Heat Illness Prevention, Confined Space Entry, Overhead Crane safety, Powered Industrial Trucks).
• Represent EHS and collaborate with all departments to uphold standards and policies.
• Oversee regulatory compliance with CAL OSHA, RCRA, EPA, SCAQMD, DOT, DTSC, and CUPA.
• Maintain communications with Operations about projects affecting EHS planning and permits.
• Coordinate drills and communicate hazardous operations status with Mojave Air and Space Port.
• Conduct inspections and audits of safety equipment and work areas.
• Manage hazardous waste and storage areas under RCRA LQG regulations.
• Maintain manifests, bills of lading and waste profiles.
• Lead drafting of Lockout/Tagout procedures and assist in JHAs.
• Coordinate EHS training programs (Crane/Hoist, LOTO, Confined Space).
