Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Safety Engineer to support Safety and Mission Assurance for the COMET Contract at Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The role focuses on integrated safety, health, and environmental support across programs, facilities, and ground operations.

You will address OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and ANSI standards and lead hazard assessments and incident investigations. Responsibilities include field surveillance, risk controls, and regulatory compliance with increasing leadership and mentoring

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or technical equivalent; four, ten, or fifteen years of experience depending on level.
• Must have a valid US driver's license.
• Experience with safety, health, and environmental (HSE) programs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide integrated safety, health, and environmental support across programs and facilities.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and ANSI standards and NASA requirements.
• Perform field surveillance, safety observations, HSE inspections, hazard ID and assessment.
• Conduct incident investigations and develop corrective actions; support program implementation.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering, and HSE stakeholders; mentor junior staff.
