Job summary

Amentum Space Exploration Division seeks a senior RF engineer to support radio frequency analyses for space-based communication systems. Responsibilities include transmitter/antenna analyses, trade studies, and test coordination with US government customers.

The role requires active US security clearance and an advanced degree with substantial experience in antenna and RF design. On-site work in Huntsville, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited electrical engineering degree required.
• Ph.D. with 9+ years of antenna and RF systems design experience.
• MS with 13+ years of experience or BS with 15+ years.
• Strong proficiency in RF analysis, simulations and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing RF transmitters, receivers, and antenna designs.
• Participate in requirements and data reviews providing inputs and comments.
• Support test campaigns in the internal and external laboratories.
• Support and generate RF subsystem trade studies.
• Perform link margin analyses using various modulation protocols and environmental influences.
• Write or collaborate communication system design and analyses reports.
• Project milestone reviews for customers and stakeholders.
• Project technical interchange, planning, review, and other meetings to maintain knowledge base.
• Perform RF interference/radio frequency compatibility analyses.
• Mentor early-career and internship engineers.
