Job summary

Astranis is seeking a Radiation Effects Intern to support modeling, analysis, and electrical testing of spacecraft hardware in a radiation environment. The internship lasts twelve weeks and is designed for students pursuing bachelor’s degrees, with opportunities to contribute to hardware/software heading to space.

You will evaluate fault-tolerant systems, assist test planning, and collaborate across teams on radiation considerations, gaining hands-on experience in a cutting-edge space

Qualifications

• Pursuing a B.S. in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field.
• Hands-on hardware development and testing in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and source meters.
• Experience with Altium Designer for schematic capture and PCB layout.
• Ability to design, build, and rigorously test electrical hardware from scratch.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and electrically test fault-tolerant electrical systems operating in a radiation environment.
• Assist in creating electrical test plans, developing test fixtures, and documenting test activities and results.
• Support radiation testing campaigns to up-screen components for TID and SEE, focusing on electrical parametric characterization.
• Work across teams to inform decisions with regards to radiation considerations.
• Support test development and early-stage activities, including breadboarding and basic cable harness fabrication.
