Astranis is seeking a Radiation Effects Test Engineer Intern for Winter 2027 to support modeling, analysis, and rigorous electrical testing of spacecraft hardware within the space radiation environment.

As an Intern, you will influence testing at multiple laboratories across the U.S., with internships typically lasting twelve weeks. This is an hourly role designed for bachelor’s degree students, offering meaningful work and potential future opportunities at Astranis.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BS in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field.
• Hands-on hardware testing and troubleshooting in fast-paced environments.
• Proficiency with oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and SMUs.
• Experience with Altium Designer or similar PCB design software.
• Ability to design, build, and test electrical hardware from scratch.
• Open to candidates who do not meet all criteria.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and test fault-tolerant electrical systems in radiation environments.
• Create electrical test plans and fixtures; document results.
• Support radiation testing campaigns, characterizing components.
• Collaborate across teams to inform radiation considerations.
• Assist in breadboarding, automated tests, and cable harness fabrication.
