Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation in El Segundo, CA is seeking a Particle Induced Radiation Effects Scientist to advance research on space radiation environments and their impact on electronics. You will perform testing at particle accelerators, analyze microelectronic responses, and develop radiation monitoring instrumentation for government and civilian missions.

Ideal candidates hold a master's in EE or physics, have 3+ years of experience, and can communicate complex results to customers.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in electrical engineering, physics, or related discipline.
• 3+ years of industry work experience.
• Understanding of particle interactions with matter and electronics; accelerator physics understanding.
• Knowledge of microelectronics function and industry trends.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Willing to travel domestically and/or internationally ~10%.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Test microelectronic parts at accelerator facilities for single-event phenomena and total-dose effects.
• Conduct research on radiation effects in microelectronics and publish results at conferences/journals.
• Design and develop advanced radiation monitors and instrumentation for lab and spaceflight use.
• Present findings to customers and stakeholders and contribute to technical reports.
