Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation invites students to join its Microelectronics Technology Department in El Segundo, CA, for a full-time, on-site internship focused on radiation effects and characterization of microelectronic devices. You will assist with experiments and simulations and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team on ongoing research.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled full-time in an accredited college/university pursuing a Bachelora0s degree in Physics, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline.
• Availability to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks outside of university term and return to studies after completion.
• Sophomore standing completed by internship start date.
• Experience with C++, JavaScript, MATLAB, Xilinx ISE, Assembly, AutoCAD, Revit, Python or related programming.
• Familiarity with semiconductor/microelectronics characterization and lab instruments.
• Minimum GPA 3.0.
• Ability to obtain/maintain U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship).
• Transcripts required.

Responsibilities

• Develop tools for managing automation of measurement systems and lab capabilities.
• Be introduced to radiation testing and characterization of microelectronic devices.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team in ongoing research or technical programs.
• Duties and activities may evolve; new tasks may be assigned as needed.
• Training and mentorship will be provided.
