Job summary

SAIC is seeking a Space Protection Acquisition Engineer to join the Air Force, Space, and Intelligence Business Group, providing systems engineering and advisory services to the IC customer. You will serve as SME and SPO representative to deploy protection capabilities into space operations, guiding MSA reviews and delivering ECPs.

The role involves planning, developing acquisitions with SMEs, and ensuring program management and cost/contract performance alignment for large space programs.

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with Poly required or active within the program.
• Bachelor’s degree with 14+ years experience (or Master’s 12+ years, PhD 9+ years).
• Experience in DoD or IC acquisition, procurement, and contracting processes/policies.
• Experience managing technical, cost, and/or schedule performance in system acquisitions over $50M.
• Familiarity with Confluence and JIRA.

Responsibilities

• Provide acquisition strategy, planning, and systems engineering expertise for ground processing software delivering space protection capabilities.
• Lead Program Office Estimate models and form Agency Cost Positions and Independent Cost Estimates.
• Assist in development of RFIs/RFPs, SOWs, ECPs, and other contract documents; support technical evaluations.
• Monitor cost performance of third-party developers and propose actions to the Government.
• Assist in planning, programming, and budget cycles; manage GEAC synchronization with financial tools.
