Job summary

VTG is seeking a Space Protection Operations Engineer to support the Air Force, Space, and Intelligence Group in a dynamic government IC environment in Chantilly, VA. The role focuses on coordinating with operators, developers, and stakeholders to deploy new protection capabilities into space operations, with the SPO on-site presence for user engagements and training.

The ideal candidate brings TS/SCI with Poly, a strong background in space acquisitions or mission ops, and experience in 24/7

Qualifications

Active TS/SCI clearance with Poly is required.
Bachelor's degree with 9+ years or Master's with 7+ years experience.
Experience in IC or DoW space acquisitions or mission operations.
Experience deploying software in a 24/7 operations center or similar.
Knowledge of agile software development principles.

Responsibilities

Serve as SME and SPO representative coordinating with end users, developers, and stakeholders for protection capabilities in space operations.
Act as on-site SPO liaison for user engagement with operators of a space protection system.
Support system testing, transition to operations planning, user training, and O&M planning.
Manage Deficiency Reports and coordinate with site stakeholders on SPO equities.
Review documentation, guide software deployments, and evaluate patches/fixes.
