Job summary

Varda is offering a Summer 2027 Propulsion Engineering Internship in Los Angeles, CA. Interns work full-time on-site May–August and must be actively enrolled in an accredited degree program.

The propulsion team handles spacecraft fluid systems, thrusters, propellant tanks, and related plumbing, with exposure across design, fabrication, and testing. Interns gain hands-on experience on a startup aerospace team, contributing to projects that support vehicle maneuvers and reentry, while learning

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate degree program.
• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
• Familiarity with engineering design software and principles (NX/Teamcenter, GD&T, Matlab/Python).
• Prior hands-on experience building or testing fluid systems.
• Familiarity with safe operation of combustion devices, rocket propellants, and pressurized systems.
• Exposure to high precision manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

• Own or contribute to hardware or software design to support development of Spacecraft or payload.
• Create or support test campaigns and build test stands.
• Perform necessary analysis to support development and testing.
