Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking summer interns for its Analog & Power Electronics team, developing advanced power electronics for space and other platforms. Interns work directly with senior engineers on design projects, from power architecture through testing and validation.

You will gain hands-on experience with lab characterization, simulations, and measurement of power electronics while contributing to ongoing programs and technology roadmaps.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in a Master of Science (MS), or PhD program in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering from an accredited university with a focus in analog or power electronics
• GPA of 3.5 or higher
• Strong fundamentals in electronics and completion of course work in one or more of the following areas: power electronics, modeling and control of power electronics, control theory, linear systems theory, non-linear system theory, power systems, and analog electronics
• Knowledge of different DC-DC power converter topologies (e.g.discrete linear regulator, Buck, Buck-boost, Flyback, Forward, Half-bridge, Full-bridge)
• Hands-on experience with lab instruments such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, frequency response and impedance analyzers, electronic loads, power sources, and signal generators
• Experience with analysis and simulation tools such as SPICE, LTSPICE, SIMetrix/SIMPLIS, PLECS, Simulink, MATLAB, MathCAD, ANSYS Q3D and SiWave, or HyperLynx
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Interns work side-by-side with experienced power electronics engineers on design projects
• Interns gain hands‑on laboratory characterization and troubleshooting experience in power electronics
