The Space Planning Analyst is responsible for managing, designing and maintaining a space inventory database and reporting system. Position utilizes the data to conduct complex analyses and make recommendations regarding the efficient usage, allocation andreallocation of space assignments. Works with administration, colleges, departments and units to develop and implement policies related to the allocation and reallocation of space. Coordinates with other departments and units to create a single university-wide relational database for space usage, cost recovery, and facility characteristics. Prepares reports related to space utilization for University of Nebraska administration, UNOP , Coordinating Commission for Post-secondary Education and other entities.Assists Physical Planning & Real Estate ( PPRE ) in other duties as assigned.
Applicants should note that the projects are university-wide and this position works primarily out of the Lincoln office.

Minimum Required Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
One year of experience with reading architectural plans with demonstrated knowledge and basic skills with 2D and 3D design with an eye for critical details.
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of software programs (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, MS Project)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail.
A valid driver’s license is required to drive a university vehicle for campus visits.
Equivalent combination of education, experience, that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
Degree and/ or college coursework in Construction Management, Architecture
Experience using geographic information system ( GIS ) computer assisted design.
Experience with Archibus, CAD , CAFM systems, relational database software, or geographic information systems.
Ideal candidate will have verbal and written communication skills that clearly, concisely, and effectively delivers simple and complex information, adapting to the audience appropriately; the ability to learn, use, and teach others on new technologies; professional skills in a wide array of space planning and database management; and exhibit intuitive and learned problem solving skills.
