Job summary

Omitron is seeking a Space Planning Analyst in Colorado Springs, CO. You will screen satellites for safety of flight and applicability, supporting multiple constellations and the full satellite life cycle.

The role requires US citizenship and TS/SCI with CI Poly, plus 9+ years of relevant experience or 7+ years with a graduate degree. On-site work only with comprehensive benefits and a focus on spaceflight safety.

Qualifications

  • US citizenship required.
  • Top Secret/SCI security clearance with CI Polygraph required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Policy, Political Science, Aerospace Engineering, Radio Frequency Engineering, Physics, or similar STEM field.
  • 9+ years of prior relevant experience in Orbital Analyst, Space Domain Awareness, RF Interference, Laser Analysis, Military Planning or similar.

Responsibilities

  • Train on multiple complex aerospace systems designed to screen satellite orbits for hazards.
  • Interface with satellite constellation operators to provide information on hazards.
  • Act as SME in outer space environment and spaceflight hazards for space enterprise.
  • Provide planning recommendations based on resources to management for available space-based resources.
  • Review policy from multiple organizations on space and space resource applications.
  • Provide evidence-based information to customers from multiple organizations.
  • Learn system functions and troubleshoot basic failures and anomalies.
  • Submit system reports on performance and deficiencies.
  • Work with advanced analysts to create temporary procedures for ongoing operations.
  • Prepare and give briefings to mid- and senior-level management on satellite activities.
  • Evaluate incoming scientific data for reasonableness.
  • Be adaptable to changing priorities in an operations environment.
  • On-site work only; remote work not possible.

Job description

Omitron is seeking a Space Planning Analyst to join our team in Colorado Springs, CO. Analysts will conduct routine screenings of orbiting satellites for safety of flight and applicability of their use in a variety of applications to support customers. As they perform operations, they will be taught the technical complexities and processes of supporting multiple satellite constellations at the peak of U.S. satellite technology. These operations support all phases of the satellite life cycle from development, launch, operations, anomaly troubleshooting, passivation, and reentry. Analysts will learn from senior scientists, mid-level engineers, and partner organizations to develop their skills and build them into members of the best spaceflight safety operations team.

Responsibilities:
  • Train on multiple complex aerospace systems designed to screen satellite orbits for hazards.

  • Provide evidence-based information, free of bias, to customers from multiple organizations.
  • Learn system functions and troubleshoot basic failures and anomalies.
  • Submit system reports on performance and deficiency
  • Work with advanced analysts and system tier support to create temporary procedures in support of ongoing operations.
  • Prepare and give briefings to mid- and senior-level management on satellite and space-related activities
  • Evaluate incoming scientific data for reasonableness.
  • Be adaptable to changing priorities in an operations environment.
  • Work is 100% on-site and cannot be accomplished remotely.
Minimum Requirements:
  • US Citizenship required
  • Security Clearance: Top Secret/SCI security clearance with CI Polygraph required
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Policy, Political Science, Aerospace Engineering, Radio Frequency Engineering, Physics, or similar STEM degree.
  • Experience: 9+ years, with Graduate Degree 7+ years, of prior relevant experience in Orbital Analyst, Space Domain Awareness, Radio Frequency Interference, Laser Analysis, Military Planning or similar.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Red Hat Linux experience
  • Windows experience
  • Strong skill set with Microsoft Office software applications
  • Experience serving government customers
Compensation and Benefits:

The salary range for this role is $120,000 to $133,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, education, technical expertise, certifications, security clearance, geographic location, internal equity, market conditions, contract requirements, and other factors.
