Job summary

Actalent in Cypress, CA seeks a Test Engineer to develop and execute comprehensive test plans, procedures, and reports to verify system requirements for a critical space payload program. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
• 3+ years hands-on engineering or test engineering experience.
• Experience developing and executing test procedures, test plans, and test reports.
• Proficiency with oscilloscopes and related measurement instruments.
• Experience with system integration, operation and calibration in a test environment.
• Data collection, analysis, and fault analysis experience.
• Knowledge of space flight and/or defense programs.
• Experience testing infrared sensors or optical tech.
• Familiarity with cryogenic systems and noise measurements in sensor/optical applications.
• Ability to work in a clean room environment.
• Proficiency in MATLAB for data analysis and test automation or scripting.
• US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed test plans, procedures, and reports to verify system requirements and ensure product performance.
• Perform hands-on system integration and testing, including setup, operation, and monitoring of test configurations.
• Conduct calibration activities for accurate measurements.
• Execute data-taking, collect test data, and ensure data integrity.
• Analyze test results and perform fault analysis to diagnose and resolve issues.
• Use test equipment such as oscilloscopes to perform measurements and troubleshooting.
• Support testing of infrared sensors, optical components, and related sensor technologies.
• Perform noise measurements and other evaluations on sensor/optical systems.
• Work with cryogenic systems and dewars as required for infrared testing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute tests.
• Apply knowledge of space flight/defense programs to meet standards and mission requirements.
• Follow clean room procedures when handling sensitive hardware.
• Document test setups, configurations, results, and findings clearly.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of test methods and processes.
