Job summary

Vardaspace is seeking a Mechanisms Engineer in El Segundo, CA, to develop electromechanical flight hardware. This role involves managing payloads for pharmaceutical manufacturing and hypersonic missions from concept to recovery.

Ideal candidates will have a strong mechanical background and desire to work on tangible hardware projects. Responsibilities include design, testing, and integration across various engineering disciplines.

Qualifications

• Strong fundamentals in structures, heat transfer, fluids, and dynamics.
• Hands-on experience designing and testing electromechanical hardware.
• Ability to communicate effectively across disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Own payload hardware from concept through reentry and recovery.
• Design mechanisms and electromechanical assemblies.
• Build, instrument, and test prototypes.
• Generate documentation: requirements, procedures, test reports.
