Job summary

Sigmatech Inc. in Colorado Springs is seeking a Space Operations Senior Systems Engineer to support Mission Delta 9 at Schriever SFB. The role includes developing curricula for new mission systems and providing technical support for mission planning and testing.

The position requires a TS/SCI clearance, strong communication, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams across complex projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or Information Systems.
• Minimum of twelve years of progressively more complex experience in network design, development, and documentation.
• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance is required.
• Recent and relevant system engineering experience.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Experience developing training programs and instructing engineering.
• Very strong interpersonal skills and cross-functional leadership.

Responsibilities

• Develop course curriculum for new mission systems, including POIs, lesson plans, and testing materials.
• Support decision briefings to Squadron leadership with visual aids from modeling/simulation tools.
• Attend planning meetings to provide technical expertise for mission planning.
• Provide analysis on system limitations, performance, and maintenance during tests.
• Support Delta 9 engineers in tracking planned vs. actual results and debriefs.

Space Operations Senior Systems Engineer

Sigmatech is seeking a well qualified Senior Systems Engineer to support Mission Delta (MD) 9 with all engineering requirements located at Schriever SFB, CO.

The Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for the following:

• Develop course curriculum for new mission systems to include Plans of Instruction (POI), lesson plans, visual aids, testing materials etc... to be used to train MD 9 government operations engineers
• Support decision briefings to Squadron leadership and provide visual aids utilizing modeling and simulation software (e.g. STK, Freeflyer etc...).
• Attend planning meetings to provide technical expertise for mission planning efforts.
• Provide pertinent supporting information, such as system limitations, system performance or maintenance considerations, during testing events in order to validate plans and results.
• Support Delta 9 engineers and mission planners in tracking and documenting planned versus actual results to include satellite configuration, health and status of system, post-burn analysis validation and mission debriefs to military personnel prior to and following events.
• Conduct technical anomaly resolution analysis during recovery and other urgent operations and advise Government Leadership on best course of action.
• Participate in the anomaly resolution process by attending resolution meetings and providing technical analysis
• Guide corrective and preventative actions for mission systems, identifying all out-of tolerance conditions or system malfunctions, aid in the resolution of all out-of-limit conditions, monitor and report configuration and or status changes to government engineers within 2 hrs, and root cause analysis.
• Assist government engineers in anomaly resolution activities, such as root cause analysis, system limitations, and track to closure.
• Support Delta 9 engineers and mission planners with validating command plans for mission activities, system maintenance/recovery actions and system characterization.

Experience and Skills

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or Information Systems
• Minimum of twelve (10) years related experience of progressively more complex experience in network design, development, and documentation
• An active Top Secret/SCI security clearance is required
• Must have recent and relevant system engineering experience
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Must have experience developing training programs and instructing engineering
• Very strong interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management and cross-functional team leadership and coordination
• Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently across a range of complex projects

Desired Qualifications

• Additional expertise in space related engineering or working with Space Force orbital warfare units

In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role is $160,000 to $185,000; however, Sigmatech considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, experience, education/training, key skills, location and often contractual requirements.
