Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation in El Segundo, CA invites applications for an internship conversion in the Network Systems Department of the Mission Payloads Division. This full-time, onsite role supports space network modeling, simulation, and data analysis using Python or C/C++.

You will participate in trade studies, development of post-processing tools, and support acquisition decisions for national security missions.

Qualifications

• Masters degree from an accredited college/university in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related program (pursuing or conferred within last 12 months).
• Prior internship at The Aerospace Corporation.
• 0-1 year of industry work experience.
• Applied research in analytical, simulation, and/or experimental skills.
• Experience in software development in Python or C/C++.
• Ability to present results effectively in briefings and technical reports.
• Willing to travel approximately 10% to work location or customer site (domestically/internationally).
• This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
• Transcripts required.

Responsibilities

• Participate in multi-disciplinary engineering teams in development and analysis of future network architectures and requirements.
• Analyze and simulate complex network architectures and protocols.
• Engage in systems architecture definition, development, analysis, modeling & simulation, and prototype development/validation.
• Innovate through specialized technical studies and internal R&D projects to develop the next generation of Space and Ground network concepts, architectures, and technologies.
• Participate in development of data analysis and post-processing tools.
• Support development and sustainment of core network simulation, emulation, and modeling capabilities.
