Job summary

Space Systems Integration (SSI) is seeking a Modeling Simulation Software Engineer in El Segundo, CA. You will join a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team to develop and release space mission operations simulations and trade studies.

Responsibilities include defining requirements, implementing tools, and integrating simulation systems for automated trade study execution. Candidates should have 9+ years in the field, expert modeling skills, and an active TS clearance with SCI eligibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in aerospace, astronautics, mathematics, or physics with 9 years' experience
• Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, Java, C#, or C++
• Experience with live, virtual, and/or constructive (LVC) simulation techniques
• Simulation experience with STK, AFSIM, GMAT, or FreeFlyer
• MATLAB and/or Simulink or similar scripting languages
• Experience as a team leader with planning, scheduling, and execution
• Preparing and delivering presentations and technical demonstrations
• Knowledge of satellite orbital mechanics, remote sensing, spacecraft launch/command/control, or satellite communications
• Equivalent experience with airborne systems is applicable
• Experience with file and directory management, network file sharing, software/licenses, and command-line shells
• Active TS clearance with SCI eligibility and willingness to polygraph
• Willingness to travel ~10%

Responsibilities

• Be a member of a fast-paced mission operations modeling, simulation, and analysis team informing the US Space Force decisions
• Develop and test simulation applications; integrate mission simulation tools into an automated architecture
• Define requirements, specify designs, and implement space mission operations simulations and trade studies
