Job summary

AeroVironment is seeking an experienced mechanical/ aerospace engineer to join our team in Albuquerque. You will provide design and analysis support across R&D programs and production contracts for space hardware and optical-mechanical systems.

The role emphasizes structural and thermal analysis, CAD-based design (SolidWorks preferred), tolerance analysis, and hands-on assembly/testing in a multi-disciplinary setting. US security clearance may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering is required.
• Structural and thermal analysis incl. analytical & FEA.
• Design using CAD software; SolidWorks preferred.
• Tolerance analysis and GD&T practices.
• Space hardware design, integration and test.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering design and analysis support to diverse R&D programs and small-volume production contracts.
• Lead the structural and thermal analysis of mechanical systems for space and airborne hardware.
• Work within a multi-disciplinary project team.
• Responsible for mechanical design/analysis activity and support integration and acceptance tests.
• Projects range from packaging high reliability electronics subsystems to opto-mechanical mechanisms.
