Job summary

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Space Mission Systems (SMS) seeks a System Architect - Model Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) at Associate, Experienced, or Lead level to join the Space Systems Engineering team in El Segundo, California. This role focuses on applying MBSE to develop and analyze system architectures for space missions and customers.

The team collaborates with commercial, government, and proprietary customers, providing high-impact, independent review and mentoring for MBSE

Qualifications

This position requires a Bachelor of Science in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
1+ years of systems engineering experience and MBSE experience with Cameo, MSOSA, or similar tools.
Experience with SysML and UAF.
Experience delivering model-based approaches and ConOps development.

Responsibilities

Decompose system requirements into functional architectures and allocate to physical implementation.
Capture requirements traceability within the architecture model.
Develop system views using SysML.
Analyze MBSE models to derive ConOps via mission threads and use case analyses.
Support milestone reviews (SRR, SDR, PDR, CDR).
Ensure models comply with customer and internal standards."
Translate customer reference architecture to internal model.
Improve MBSE training, processes, and tools.
Mentor systems engineers in MBSE.
Foster strong customer relationships.
