Job summary

Anduril Industries is actively seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for Automation & Tooling to design MGSE, fixtures, and production tooling for a new state-of-the-art space facility. You will own the tooling lifecycle from concept through released drawings, including qualification and procurement, with emphasis on cleanroom compatibility and minimizing particle generation.

You will collaborate with Space Vehicle Integration, Sensors & Avionics, and Propulsion & Energetics to ensure tooling enables

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering or related tech discipline.
• 8+ years designing production tooling, fixtures or MGSE for aerospace/defense/high-reliability.
• Portfolio showing tooling or MGSE designed and released on floor.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical ground support equipment and production tooling in CAD from concept to released drawings (handling, lift, rotation, transport fixtures, alignment and torque tooling).
• Own the tooling procurement runway against the facility schedule (long-lead items, specs, vendor packages, delivery dates).
• Qualify tooling and MGSE before flight hardware touch (load path analysis, proof load, lift cert, first-article records).
• Design tooling for cleanroom compatibility (materials, coatings, lubricants, surface finish) to minimize particles and FOD.
• Design semi-automated assembly stations and automation where it reduces touch labor or variability.
• Influence vehicle and subassembly designs for manufacturability and assembly from the tooling perspective.
• Use Foundry/Teamcenter as the system of record for tooling definition and maintenance status.
• Own tooling sustainment: calibration, spares, wear, changes from design changes or nonconformances.
