Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation seeks a Member of Technical Staff in the Launch Operations Readiness Team to support launch operations analyses, risk assessment, and real-time forecasting for US space programs. Onsite work is required across multiple locations including Colorado Springs.

Ideal candidates hold a Master’s or PhD in aerospace, math, or physics, with 0–1 year postgraduate experience, strong astrodynamics, and analytical software skills.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Aerospace engineering, Mathematics, Physics or related field (Pursuing or conferred within the last 12 months).
• 0 to 1 years of professional postgraduate experience.
• Strong organizational skills, ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines and deliverables.
• Aptitude with astrodynamics and related mathematics.
• Skills in mathematical formulation and derivation.
• Experience with development and use of computer software tools.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance; U.S. citizenship required; transcripts are required.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to projects involving analyses and software development for launch operations and risk mitigation.
• Support real-time operations and analyses including launch collision risk assessments.
• Conduct deep dives, trade studies, and assessments with cross-disciplinary teams.
• Develop and present timely, technically accurate briefings and reports.
• Travel occasionally to support customer efforts.
