Job summary

Astrion is seeking an entry or mid-level Controls & Data Acquisition Engineer (Engineer I - IV) to support ISRU technology development for future lunar and Martian missions. This role will be embedded within NASA’s Kennedy Space Center laboratories (ACL, CTL, Swamp Works) in Cape Canaveral, FL.

Responsibilities include designing and implementing DAQ and control systems with LabVIEW, instrumenting ISRU reactors, developing closed-loop control, and logging sensor data, with collaboration across

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• 1–7+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with LabVIEW or equivalent DAQ/control systems.
• Experience with sensors (thermocouples, pressure, limit switches, current/voltage) and data logging.
• Experience developing data acquisition and logging systems.
• Familiarity with RS232, I2C, CAN, EtherCAT.
• Experience writing technical reports and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement DAQ and control systems using LabVIEW or similar platforms.
• Instrument ISRU reactor and purification systems with robust sensors.
• Develop closed-loop control for heaters, actuators, and hardware.
• Integrate hardware like stepper motors, actuators, heating elements.
• Acquire, process, and log high-quality sensor data for analysis.
• Develop test plans and execute technology development and validation.
• Collaborate with mechanical, chemical, and systems engineers.
