Job summary

Astrion seeks a SCIENTIST III to support the LASSO II contract at Kennedy Space Center, Merritt Island, FL. You will provide technical and logistical lab support, oversee chemical inventories, safety equipment, and instrument operation across multiple labs onsite.

The role requires extensive lab experience, mastery of analytical instrumentation, vendor communications, and strong documentation skills. Onsite work with occasional overtime possible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or similar field.
• 10 years of related laboratory experience.
• Experience with analytical instruments: LCMS, GC, GC-FID, GCMS, IC, ICP, XRF, XRD, SEM.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and documentation development.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and maintain safety equipment in labs.
• Maintain chemical inventories and coordinate hazardous waste removal.
• Manage laboratory inventories and supplies.
• Replace expired components on pressure systems and assemble mechanical parts.
• Troubleshoot equipment and perform basic repairs.
• Communicate with vendors and develop test plans and reports.
