Job summary

Astrion seeks an entry- or mid-level Controls & Data Acquisition Engineer to support ISRU tech at Kennedy Space Center labs. You will focus on LabVIEW-based control systems, sensor integration, and data acquisition in harsh environments.

Work involves testing reactor systems, developing closed-loop control for heaters and actuators, and collaborating with mechanical, chemical, and systems engineers to generate robust electrical schematics and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with relevant experience in controls and data acquisition.
• Hands-on LabVIEW/DAQ experience in harsh environments and aerospace settings.
• Experience with instrumentation and sensors (thermocouples, pressure, voltage, current).
• Ability to design, test, and document control systems and data logs.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement DAQ and control systems using LabVIEW.
• Instrument ISRU reactor and purification systems with rugged sensors.
• Develop closed-loop control for heaters, actuators, and hardware.
• Integrate motors, actuators, heating elements, and control devices.
• Acquire, process, and log high-quality sensor data for analysis.
• Develop test plans and run verification in lab and simulated space environments.
• Generate technical reports and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
