Job summary

Los Alamos National Laboratory seeks an R&D Engineer 1 or 2 to define specifications, design, model, fabricate, and test space instrumentation. You will join a multidisciplinary team advancing high-quality measurement systems deployed on ground, suborbital rockets, or in space for national security and NASA missions.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated coursework or design experience in electronics engineering focus areas: analog, digital, cross-domain, power, RF/microwave.
• Experience with design and analysis tools such as schematic capture, MATLAB, and PCB layout/signal integrity tools.
• Ability to work independently and in a team, with strong communication skills.
• Education: Bachelor's in Engineering with 2+ years related experience; or 4 years total for higher level.

Responsibilities

• Define specifications, design, model, fabricate, and test instruments.
• Work within multidisciplinary teams to develop space instrumentation.
• Lead subsystems for design verification and validation, mentor early career staff.
