Job summary

Northwood is seeking an Electronics Specialist in Torrance, CA to build and operate hands-on test infrastructure for rapid hardware iteration from prototype through integration and qualification.

You will assemble and troubleshoot test racks, perform benchtop and integrated testing, and document results with traceability. This hands-on role requires strong soldering, RF, and lab skills in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
• 6+ years of experience as an electronics technician, test technician, or specialist supporting complex hardware.
• Knowlege of Ohm's Law, DC power supplies, and multimeters.
• Soldering/rework for SMT and through-hole components.
• Experience operating basic machine shop equipment and hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Build, wire, and troubleshoot test racks, fixtures, and electrical test setups.
• Perform benchtop and integrated testing independently or with engineers.
• Execute SMT and through-hole rework and fabricate harnesses/coax assemblies.
• Support integration and environmental test, with calibration and traceability.
• Summarize and share test data and preliminary results, assist anomaly investigations.
• Maintain lab readiness with calibrated instrumentation and organized tooling.
• Drive 5S and process improvements to enhance throughput and reliability.
• Help develop safe work practices for high voltage / high power RF systems.
• Partner with test engineers to improve rack maintainability and documentation.
