Job summary

Northwood Space is seeking an Electronics Specialist to build and operate hands-on test infrastructure for rapid hardware iteration from prototype to integration and qualification. You will assemble, troubleshoot, and maintain test racks and harnesses, enabling fast, reliable testing in a dynamic lab environment.

You will work with test engineers to debug anomalies, perform rework, and document results with traceability, supporting environmental and system-level campaigns in a high-velocity

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience as an electronics technician, test technician, or specialist supporting complex hardware.
• Knowledge of Ohm's Law, DC power supplies, and multimeters.
• Soldering/rework for SMT and through-hole components, including fine-pitch work.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Familiarity with RF test, spectrum analyzer and network analyzer measurements.

Responsibilities

• Build, wire, and troubleshoot test racks, fixtures, and mechanical/electrical test setups
• Perform benchtop and integrated testing independently or with engineers, following procedures and requirements
• Execute SMT + through-hole solder rework and fabricate harnesses/coax assemblies
• Support integration and environmental test (repeatable configs, calibration/traceability, documentation)
• Summarize and share test data and preliminary results, and support anomaly investigations to resolution
• Maintain lab readiness (calibrated instrumentation, equipment health, tooling, consumables, organization)
• Drive 5S and process improvements to improve throughput and reliability
• Help develop safe work practices for high voltage / high power RF systems
• Partner with test engineers to improve rack maintainability, documentation, and throughput
