Job summary

Muon Space seeks a Senior Manager to lead and grow the Hardware Reliability & Test organization, partnering across Reliability & Qualification, Acceptance Test, and Test Framework Engineering. The role requires steering test standards, data pipelines, and shared resources from subsystem to spacecraft level.

You will guide teams, ensure alignment with customer requirements, and communicate reliability status to executives. This position is hybrid, onsite in San Jose, CA three days weekly.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience qualifying hardware for spaceflight or similarly demanding environments.
• 10+ years in hardware test, qualification, or reliability engineering, incl. 3+ years leading teams.
• Ability to define processes and drive consistency across multiple engineering teams.
• Knowledge of reliability analysis methods (FMEA, fault trees, statistical modeling).
• Familiarity with software-driven test frameworks and automated test infrastructure.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with new challenges weekly.

Responsibilities

• Build, lead, and grow the Hardware Reliability & Test organization across its three functions.
• Own vehicle and subsystem qualification and define test conditions for consistency.
• Refine and own quantitative reliability models and identify data gaps.
• Own hardware test frameworks, standards, and testing databases from module to spacecraft level.
• Deliver standardized spacecraft-level tests that are configurable per mission.
• Provide shared hardware, software, and logistical resources for qualification and testing.
• Partner with Systems Engineering and Business Development to meet customer requirements.
• Communicate reliability posture and test status to leadership and customers.
