Job summary

Astranis is seeking a Reliability Test Intern for Summer 2027 to work on challenging hardware tests for satellite systems. This 12-week internship is onsite in Northern California and targets students enrolled at a four-year university.

You will help plan and execute reliability tests, analyze results, and contribute to test environments used for space hardware. As part of a cross-functional engineering team, you will gain hands-on experience with environmental testing, data analysis in Python

Qualifications

Must be pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering or related field.
Strong interest in hardware reliability, testing, and hands-on engineering work.
Must be onsite 5 days per week.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan reliability tests for satellite hardware.
Support test plan and procedure development per design specifications and mission profiles.
Set up, operate, and monitor environmental test equipment (thermal chambers, vacuum systems, vibration tables).
Execute reliability tests (thermal cycling, vacuum, vibration).
Collect, analyze, and document data to identify failure modes and verify reliability targets.
Design test fixtures and instrumentation for data acquisition.
