Job summary

Astranis in Northern California is seeking a Reliability Test Intern for Winter 2027 to work with satellite hardware teams on reliability tests. You will plan, set up, run, and document tests such as thermal cycling, vacuum, and vibration, learning to identify failure modes.

Current enrollment in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace engineering is required; you must be onsite five days a week. Hands-on experience with test equipment and data analysis is a plus; past internships or projects in

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• Strong interest in hardware reliability and hands-on engineering work.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan reliability tests for satellite hardware.
• Support test plan and procedure development based on design specifications and mission profiles.
• Set up, operate, and monitor environmental test equipment (thermal chambers, thermal vacuum, vibration shakers).
• Execute reliability tests such as thermal cycling, thermal vacuum, and vibration.
• Collect, analyze, and document test data to identify potential failure modes and ensure reliability targets are met.
• Design test fixtures, setup instrumentation and data acquisition systems.
