Job summary

Amentum seeks a Project Engineer to support the UPRITE project under the JETSII contract. The role focuses on assembling, testing, and verifying space hardware, coordinating with NASA and test facilities, and generating essential documentation.

Candidates should have an engineering degree and relevant experience in space hardware, with strong written and verbal communication skills and proficiency in Python for testing tasks. Onsite work in Houston is expected.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 2–5 years of related experience.
• Knowledge of space hardware design and documentation practices.
• Experience with NASA flight hardware testing and certification (Class 1E).
• Ability to prepare written documents and present at meetings.

Responsibilities

• Generate assembly and test procedures.
• Assemble and test hardware.
• Troubleshoot hardware and rework as needed.
• Design, assemble, and evaluate test fixtures.
• Coordinate with test facilities and document external tests.
• Assist to coordinate analyses and verifications with matrix organizations.
• Generate verification documentation and review design memos and test reports.
• Coordinate flight logistics for launch articles.
