Job summary

FTS International, LLC is seeking a Ground Systems Engineer in Chantilly, VA to serve as a key technical contributor. You will develop, integrate, test, sustain, and modernize mission-critical ground systems for space operations, partnering with government stakeholders and software teams.

The role requires TS/SCI with polygraph, a BS in a STEM field, and 9+ years of relevant experience in defense, aerospace, or space domains. Excellent communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• TS/SCI with polygraph.
• BS STEM in engineering discipline.
• 9+ years of experience in ground systems engineering, software integration, or mission operations.
• Strong understanding of systems engineering principles, software development lifecycles, configuration management, and V&V processes.
• Experience with operational ground systems and space mission operations.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering expertise across the system lifecycle and advise on ground software, architectures, integration, and operations.
• Lead and support development, integration, testing, deployment, and sustainment of ground systems for space operations.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, interface specs, and engineering artifacts.
• Plan system integration activities involving software, networks, databases, and operational systems for interoperability.
• Support verification, validation, performance assessment, troubleshooting, and anomaly resolution.
• Collaborate with government stakeholders and mission partners to define requirements and implement technical solutions.
• Capture and transfer critical program knowledge and engineering best practices for long-term sustainment.
