Job summary

LV8D Solutions in Chantilly, VA, seeks a Ground Systems Engineer to deliver end-to-end lifecycle support for mission-critical space ground systems. You will lead development, integration, testing, and sustainment while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure system readiness and operational effectiveness.

The role requires deep expertise in ground software, system architectures, and operational processes, plus strong communication and leadership abilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline.
• 9+ years in ground systems engineering or related fields.
• Experience with system integration and testing in defense/aerospace contexts.
• Strong grasp of systems engineering, software lifecycles, CM, and V&V.
• Experience supporting operational ground systems and mission planning.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the development, integration, testing, deployment, and sustainment of mission-critical ground systems supporting space operations.
• Provide technical expertise for ground software, operational workflows, system architectures, and mission support processes.
• Plan and execute system integration activities involving software, networks, databases, and operational systems to ensure interoperability and mission readiness.
• Support system verification, validation, performance assessment, troubleshooting, and anomaly resolution efforts.
• Evaluate architectures and processes; propose improvements for reliability, maintainability, security, and effectiveness.
• Collaborate with government stakeholders, operators, developers, and engineers to define requirements and implement solutions.
• Develop, review, and maintain technical documentation, interface specs, procedures, configurations, and artifacts.
• Capture and transfer critical program knowledge and best practices for long-term sustainability.
• Assist leadership in prioritizing engineering efforts aligned with mission objectives.
