Job summary

Apex Technology, Inc. is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to join the Ground Software team in Playa Vista, CA. You will design, build, and operate the ground and site network infrastructure across commercial and secured environments, and own the security posture of the platform.

You will architect highly available Kubernetes clusters, implement IaC with Terraform/Terragrunt, and drive observability, CI/CD, and incident response to ensure uptime on mission-critical programs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in site reliability, infrastructure, or network engineering.
• Hands-on experience architecting and operating ground or large-scale production network infrastructure.
• Deep expertise with Kubernetes and containers in production.
• Strong networking fundamentals across routing, switching, segmentation, and secure design.
• Infrastructure as code with CI/CD, automation, and observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana).
• Security and compliance for regulated or classified environments; defensible posture.
• Proficiency in Python or Go scripting.

Responsibilities

• Architect and build ground and site network infrastructure across commercial and secured environments.
• Design, deploy, and scale highly available Kubernetes clusters supporting multiple security levels.
• Own the security posture of ground infrastructure and enforce controls and hardening.
• Develop infrastructure as code using Terraform and Terragrunt for repeatable environments.
• Establish observability across the ground network with monitoring, logging, and alerting.
• Design and run CI/CD pipelines and automation to streamline deployments.
• Serve as primary site reliability engineer to drive uptime and reliability standards.
• Collaborate with security, mission operations, and program teams to ensure compliant operability.
• Set architectural standards and mentor engineers on ground infrastructure.
